Hey everyone!
The Monkey and Peach Issue #2 campaign is finally coming to close, as we’ve shipped out all our orders! Your packages should be well on their way (some may have even arrived by now). It’s surreal to think of where we started, during the pandemic, hashing out story board, page drafts, story ideas and concepts, but we’re here - at the finish line.
Quite the workout!
If you have any issues with your order, don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected]. There are still a few outstanding orders who have not yet filled out their surveys and/or shipping information, so please be sure to do that if you haven’t!
What's Next!
Now that Issue 2’s a wrap, you might be wondering what’s next? We’ve got plans for the release of Issue #3, and we hope to be able to post a sneak peek or more news on that soon, so sit tight!
But until then, we’re going on tour! Well - the convention circuit to be more exact! We’ll be traveling to the following conventions, selling and signing our books; so if you’re going to be at any of these cons, be sure to come say hi! (These are the shows that we’ve been confirmed for so far, but we might show up at more once we hear back from other cons; fingers crossed)

Again, from the small crew of us at Westbound Comics, we’d like to say thanks again for supporting us! It’s difficult to describe the amount of time and effort that we put into this project, not to mention creating the comic itself, but figuring out logistical issues down to the tiniest thing - like throwing gold on everything to really make our book look super cool, and also it’s just so ✨sparkly✨; and we’ve received a lot of help and support to be able to make all of this happen, so really, thank you!
Also, we’d love to hear what you think! We really want to hear what you liked about our story, what you think needs improvement and any suggestions on what you’d like to see in the future. The final product looks amazing ✨, and we can't wait so show you everything we've been working hard at for the past year.
So far, we're right on schedule and we're currently hard at work fulfilling and packaging orders, with our goal to start shipping by Friday3/25!
That means that this is the last 1 week deadline for locking in orders, until Thursday3/24. This is your last chance to make any changes towards your order!
For Digital Backers, orders will begin sending out to your e-mails as soon as orders are locked in, starting Friday 3/25 and fulfilled by Backer Kit.

Production Status
We’re back with a big update! We’ve been hard at work putting together the production files, submitting them to manufacturers, and approving proofs and making changes. There were a few variables that ultimately shifted our schedule around. Things like a paper shortage at our print shop and holiday closures at our pin manufacturer. Thankfully we’ve did our best to mitigate those issues when planning our timeline and everything is still moving along exactly as expected.
Here’s a quick breakdown of all our items and where we are in the process:
Issue 2 — The physical proofs for all versions of issue 2 arrived just today.
Stickers — All youkai and hero stickers are in-hand. There was a manufacturing error with our Inugami spirit sticker and are in the process of reprinting them.
Youkai Pins — Both the Wanyuudo and Yuurei pins are in hand.
Art Print Set — Proofs have been approved and are currently in production.
As mentioned for the inugami spirit sticker, there was a manufacturing error where the coating on the sticker was gloss instead of soft-touch matte. We are currently in the process of reprinting them and, as a bonus, we’ll be including 1 of these misprinted stickers in addition to the stretch goal unlocked soft-touch stickers for all physical backers!

When do you get your rewards?
Once the proofs are reviewed and approved by the end of this week, full production on issue 2 will begin. This is expected to take 3-4 weeks. Which puts us in early-to-mid March for having all rewards in hand. At that point, we’ll reopen our BackerKit orders and give everyone a 2-week window to adjust your orders and confirm shipping addresses.
That means if you haven’t gotten you orders in place, filled out your surveys, etc. then now’s the time to do so!
At the end of March, we’ll lock orders and begin shipping everything out. That’s it for now, so sit tight!

Happy New Year 🎉!!
Hey everybody! Here’s a quick update!
First, the Monkey and Peach team want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! This year is the year of the tiger, and we hope that 2022 will go strong just like it’s Chinese Zodiac counterpart.
We’ve finalized our Backerkit surveys and we’ll be sending them out later today, so keep an eye out for your notifications and e-mails for the link! If you backed our campaign and want to add on more items to your pledge, you can do so through the survey.
In other news, we are still seeing the effects of the pandemic on worldwide shipping, and the print industry is currently suffering through paper shortages. Despite these setbacks, we've managed to finalize shipping rates for our items and continue on schedule with regards to the production of Issue #2. Stickers are finalized and ready to order, and the order for enamel pins are in production.
We’ll be working hard getting things into production, so until then, have a safe and healthy 2022! Cheers!

It's the last 24 hours, so don't stop me now! We're burning through the sky, yeah! 200 degrees, that's why they call me Mister Wanyuudo! Blazing past the finish line!
Our current funding is at $13,968 so we're pretty much going to say we've unlocked upgraded glow-in-the-dark for all Yuurei pins, and glitter material upgrades for all Wanyuudo pins. Thanks for getting us here!
Next up: the Inugami Spirit sticker and Issue 1.5 included with the book!
How It's made: Variant Foil cover Time-lapse
Here's one final behind the scenes look - the making of the Variant foil stamped cover featuring Saru, by Hammling! This was a fun piece to work on, playing around with Art Nouveau inspired elements that are outside of Monkey and Peach's typical art style. Enjoy this time-lapse!
